Life is Good – A unique resort within the greenery of Noord-Brabant
Can you think of a better way to wake up than in the silent morning sun, with a good cup of coffee, and birds singing around you? Didn’t think so! That is exactly what you get at the hidden gem, Boutique Resort Life is good!
This unique place located in Noord Brabant is an extravagant bed and breakfast with a villa and three detached hotel suites. Although they are all special in their own way, each spot has seclusion and peace in a pastoral location. We are talking spacious meadows, ponds, and animals like horses and chickens roaming freely!
History
Since around 1730, very diverse families lived on this farm and contributed to the rich history. 16 years ago, in 2005, the current owners bought the estate. From the moment of purchase, they have spent continuous hours restoring the ancient farm and surrounding yard, with an important focus on respecting its history. Years later, as their family grew they made a new decision to demolish the old buildings and replace them with a unique One Room Hotel.
In 2014, they decided to expand and began working on the oak outbuilding – a sustainable suite with an awareness of Brabant’s cultural history. The growth didn’t stop there, however, and in 2017 their treehouse came to be. The next year, they bought the neighbor’s land and repurposed the 2.5-hectare site into a unique small-scale boutique resort. With the new destination, they plan to continue expanding their estate with more surprising suites and unique buildings that blend into the landscape. The spearhead remains to provide complete privacy and tranquility in a natural environment for you as their guest!
Arrival
When we arrived at our suite at, Life is Good, our jaws dropped. And when I say that, I mean they literally dropped. Nothing prepared us for the architectural mastery, immense space, and beauty (indoors and out) we came faced with. The loft was gorgeous with my dream kitchen, an oversized dining table, wide windows looking out at the enormous garden, and an exposed second story that was breathtaking. Not to mention all of the wellness options. I had no idea we’d have access to a rain shower, luxury bathtub, and private sauna! We couldn’t wait to get out of our street clothes and into the robes provided.
Their Suites
Their One Room Hotel is the only five-star one-room hotel in the Netherlands! Here, you’ll find an intimate and personal atmosphere. This suite also has its own private roof terrace, fitness center, and sauna!
The Tree Suite, built in an ancient oak tree, sits 4-meters above ground and has its own Finnish Sauna and terrace perfect for bird watching.
The Loft, (pictured) built with eco-friendly materials is modern and chic. It is also completely sustainable and CO2 neutral. Along with a panoramic view, this suite also has a sauna, free-standing bath, and a fully equipped kitchen. The space is also perfect for a staff meeting, training, or private event as it can accommodate up to 30 people!
The Rural Villa De Gouverner comes with its own private piece of nature. This is a great choice if you are interested in focusing on wellness. Upon arrival, you’ll walk through an oak garden gate into the beautiful landscape garden with your own private jacuzzi, sauna, and natural plunge pool.
The gardens
Our suite had a private outdoor terrace with a large picnic table, lounge chairs, and a swing overlooking the grounds. As I mentioned before, the land is equally as beautiful as the suites. Green and lovingly maintained. You’ll find a bridge over a small pond, walking paths, and horses and chickens roaming freely! Also, if you are lucky with the weather like we were, you might just catch a stunning pink and orange sunset! Overall, the atmosphere definitely will get you in the tranquil mindset you need to focus on rest and recuperation.
A quiet evening and morning
We spent our evening checking out the spa, watching the sunset on our private terrace, enjoying a hot bubble bath in their luxurious black tub, and resting in the living room by a roaring fire. When morning came we were greeted with a basket delivery, filled with freshly baked bread, cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, milk, and juice – your traditional Dutch breakfast. The check-out time came too soon, and we really didn’t want to leave. We took one last glance out the beautiful grounds, said our goodbyes to the owner, and left with her motto ringing in our ears, “Life is good! Enjoy it.”
